On 9th of October 2018 PILON AEC and SiBIM will host the first edition of Adriatic BIM Academy.
The conference will showcase how BIM front runners are closing the gaps between disciplines and software platforms within the AEC industry. We promise that you will learn something new about the fast expanding world of BIM. The BIM dragon is out of cage and it will push building industry further. It also represent the trademark of the host city Ljubljana.
Adriatic BIM Academy is a one day conference in Ljubljana with tightly scheduled lectures and activities:
High level keynote presentations from leaders from the technology industry
Project specific cases and OpenBIM in action
The conference takes place at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons very close to Brdo motorway exit with free parking on the site.
Adriatic BIM Academy is the perfect opportunity to learn about the newest developments and overall possibilities with BIM. Project Owners, Developers, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Facility Managers will learn and experience what OpenBIM offers in terms of benefits for design, construction and maintenance operations. The event does not only target the day-to-day CAD/BIM-professionals and users, but also reaches out to CEO’s and Management Teams. The conference is supported by Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) and Slovene BIM Association (SiBIM). We will host also special guest from down under available to share his extensive BIM expertise to all interested.
Seats are limited, so make sure to get hold of your ticket as soon as possible, as we expect attendants from Slovenia and neighbouring countries.
WITH SUPPORT FROM
Why Open BIM works / keynote speaker is member of buildingSMART also known as the BIM Captain from Rotterdam with 25 years experience, currently leading the Open BIM Program in Nemetschek Group. He is very active within construction industry on their way to learning to speak an unambiguous Open BIM language. He will present examples how is Open BIM implemented and give an overview of success stories, disprove some stubborn perceptions but point out also to some pitfalls.
BIM A+: European Master in Building Information Modelling / BIM A+ as leading international Masters Course in Building Information Modelling co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The objective of BIM A+ is to offer an advanced education programme on BIM integrated design, construction and operation processes, with a strong focus on the collaborative practices that are the cornerstone of such integration.
Parametric Design in BIM / innovative software technologies help us expanding the possibilities in the architectural design process. Gordana Radonić, BIM Consultant at GRAPHISOFT HQ, will share the latest advances in the workflows in leading BIM and parametric design solutions: ARCHICAD, Rhino and Grasshopper.
Designing big 5-star resort Funtana in BIMcloud / one of the 1st generation of BIM enthusiasts in Croatia will present big project Funtana on peninsula near Poreč, Croatia (cca 300.000 m2) where a luxurious 5-star camp is planned. Project was developed by a number of architectural and engineering offices all using different design platforms and coordinated on BIMcloud with the help of BIMx Lab.
BIMTech Tool use manufacturers building materials data / unique BIM tool which contains catalogue of building materials from real manufacturers. It includes Composite System Configurator with in-built building physics calculations like water moisture or U-value, application details and GEO services like a terrain or a cadastral maps for all main design platforms.
Designing Landscape in BIM / working as Land Software A/S developer and landscape architect he will present ARCHICAD add-on LAND4 which respect work processes of landscape architects and integrate them in BIM workflow. He will show the tool in use and zoom in on the advantages it offers when modelling terrain adjacent to a building.
Superform / design office mission is responsible and recognisable architecture, to co-create the identity of the user and influence the built environment for a better world. They believe in architecture, which is more than merely a function and is based on a tangible experience that can be felt and enjoyed. He will present ...
GRAPHISOFT BIM Training Centre / the knowledge, beside management support, is the most important part of successful migration to BIM process. Graphisoft recognised that and prepared an extensive training program with certifications from basic skills to BIM Manager trainings, with all new training materials.
David Delgado Vendrell
IFC Model Content Quality Checking / openBIM and ARCHICAD specialist from DDV Arquitectura will present the content quality checking process within the management of IFC models. He will cover the possibilities ARCHICAD provides us to understand in a user-friendly way the IFC Schema, its hierarchy, the property sets, types of parameters. The quality of information to be embedded into the project is crucial for successful collaboration with third parties.

Challenges at designing LIDL logistics centre in BIM / from Elea-iC, Slovene largest interdisciplinary BIM design office, will present one of their latest projects local LIDL logistics centre. The building houses a high-rack warehouse for non-foods and for various foods and cooling room temperatures. The warehouse areas are linked to communication paths for fork-lifters and daily traffic of hundreds of trucks.
